1.听力材料长，仅靠记忆力不够
托福听力材料中每篇对话2-3分钟，讲座5-6分钟，文章很长，而且在我们听材料的时候是看不到题的，内心肯定很忐忑，因为不知道待会儿要出什么题啊。除了少数听力极好的神人之外，大部分人的瞬间记忆力是非常有限的，这时记笔记这个托福听力技巧便能很好地发挥作用。不记笔记的话，听力过程中很容易忘记之前听到的内容，可能等到做题的时候就只能脑子一片空白或者浆糊，理不出来一二三，答题的时候没有任何思路，命中率不高。做笔记，能够为我们做题的时候提供参照物，帮助我们尽快回忆文章的结构和一些细节，提高答题的效率和准确率。
2.听力过程中易受干扰
在听材料的过程中，很多同学反映容易受到各种因素的影响，来自自身的或者外界的都有。有些同学觉得听力材料太长，理解起来困难，所以更没耐心听下去，中途就与听力材料完全的断篇了;有的同学做听力的时候必须在绝对安静的环境下进行，很容易受到周围一些悉悉索索的噪音打扰心神，难以静下心来做题，等等。养成做笔记的习惯能够让我们集中注意力带着目的去听材料，提高抗干扰能力，克服来自外界或者自己的干扰。
3.答题时间有限
托福听力中给我们解题的时间很有限，基本上每道题只有35秒左右的时间来答题。这个简短得时间里，我们要审题，分析选项，如果还要浪费时间去回忆刚才听到了什么内容才能选出答案来，那时间是肯定不够的。记笔记能够减少我们绞尽脑汁去回忆材料内容的时间，掌握做笔记的原则之后，我们就能够在做题时，比较直观快速的定位关键词，并根据笔记的内容迅速找到相对答案，提高答题效率。
